9v-varta-high-energy-alkaline-battery

The 9V Varta High Energy Alkaline batteries we are testing here are what the manufacturer considers to be the most powerful of all of their Alkaline batteries series that were developed especially for power-hungry devices, e. g. toys, audio equipments, LED flashlights and computer devices. We’ve seen very good results from the AA and AAA size Varta alkaline batteries so we also have high expectations here as well. The expiration date of the tested battery here was 08-2018, so quite a lot of time left for use before expiring.

In order to test the capacity of the 9V Varta High Energy Alkaline batteries we are using a constant current discharge rate of 0.05A (50 miliampers) and we have managed to get just 258 mAh. With this result and Varta claiming that their High Energy Alkaline batteries are the best they offer we are quite disappointed, we expected to see more from these batteries in our tests, so while Varta’s AA and AAA size Alkaline batteries have shown great results in our tests their 9V Alkalines are apparently not that good.

The performance of the 9V Varta High Energy Alkaline batteries in our tests:

9v-fujicell-alkaline-battery

The 9V Fujicell Alkaline batteries we are testing here are proving to be interesting as we’ve seen from tests of other Fujicell batteries where they are performing quite well and considering the fact that these batteries are available at a good price you may want to consider the good models. The question here is how will the 9V Alkaline battery perform and will it be worth to consider. The battery we are testing is with an expiration date of 02-2020.

In order to test the capacity of the 9V Fujicell Alkaline batteries we are using a constant current discharge rate of 0.05A (50 miliampers) and we have managed to get 398 mAh and that is a very good results for a 9V Alkaline battery. If we compare this to the 9v Duracell Alkaline battery that we are using as a reference the Fujicell battery offers significantly higher capacity at a more affordable price, so definitely a good choice if you are in need of a 9V Alkaline battery.

The performance of the 9V Fujicell Alkaline batteries in our tests:

The 9V Duracell Procell Alkaline batteries we are testing here are from the Professional series of Duracell, a series that has lot of controversy surround it regarding if these are the same batteries or not as the standard Duracell Copper Top batteries. We’ve already tested AA and AAA size Copper Tops and Procells with the same expiration date and compared them to reveal that the Procell batteries do perform a bit better, so we are expecting to see something similar with the 9V Procell batteries by Duracell as well and we are of course going to compare them to the 9V copper Tops that we have already tested here. The expiration date of the battery tested here is 03-2017, something that is very important to note when doing battery comparisons as while Alkaline batteries do self discharge pretty slow over time as compared to NiMHs for example they still do.

In order to test the capacity of the 9V Duracell Procell Alkaline batteries we are using a constant current discharge rate of 0.05A (50 miliampers) and we have managed to get 245 mAh and that is quite Ok for a 9V Alkaline battery, though we must say we kind of expected to see better performance out of these Duracell batteries. So in order to be sure we have picked up a second Procell battery and it got us 242 mAh under the same conditions, a bit of a disappointment considering the fact that we have managed to get better results out of a 9V Duracell Copper Top battery.

– 245 mAh at 0.05A load

– 1.812 Wh at 0.05A load
